All of the art featured at Spoons Café was created by the son of the owners, Connor Goodwin. Local resident and 2016 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Connor’s passion for art began at the age of 14. Connor started dabbling in art with simple doodles and creating his own graffiti which then blossomed into complex portrait work while working under the tutelage of Artist/Teacher Rod Peterson in Hurricane, Utah. While in Utah, Connor learned to hone his talent which led to participation in several chalk art festivals and winning top prizes in numerous art festivals. Connor spent his sophomore year of high school at Capital Area School for the Arts (CASA) in Harrisburg and his junior year at Teen Challenge in Virginia. Since his return, Connor participated in American Craft Week, First Night Carlisle, has taken classes in glass blowing, and continues to enjoy creating portraits and work on expanding his repertoire. He will be attending Cleveland Institute of Art beginning August 2016. All of Connor’s prints are for sale and he is available for commission work. He can create portraits from photographs. If you are interested in contacting him, please see any of the employees at Spoons or ask for Connor – he is working in the kitchen this summer.
